CCC President and VP Assist at Pro-Life Stations of the Cross

Holy Saturday 2023

CCC Executive Director, Thomas McKenna reports:

Yesterday (4/8/23) in San Diego, local pro-life groups held the 18th annual pro-life Stations of the Cross.

Lead by our auxiliary bishop, His Excellency, Ramon Bejarano,we processed from St. Joseph Cathedral to the old federal building down the main streets. The police escort was very helpful, as always, and stopped traffic and closed streets for us.

Father John, Trigilio and Father Kenneth Brighenti, who are spending holy week with us, participated in this inspiring event. May the scourge of abortion in our country end, one day soon!

Going out to the Highways and Byways in L.A.

CCC Board Member, Fr. Marcos Gonzalez of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, knows “the power of an invitation.” He is pastor of St. Andrews Church in Old Pasadena, California, and he’s been spearheading an effort to get Catholics back to Mass after the COVID fiasco. His own personal faith journey began with an invitation to Mass from a neighbor, and his life has never been the same.

Working with the lay missionary group, L.A. Catholics, his parishioners are going door to door and branching out into the highways and byways of Los Angeles with pamphlets (and smiles) to invite people back – and into – the Catholic Church. (In Pasadena, they actually go out to evangelize souls on the boulevard where the annual Rose Bowl Parade takes place!)

Father states that they have begun the Eucharistic Revival in earnest at his parish. Their launch of the program in November of last year featured all day confession, two masses, Eucharistic Adoration, and a social afterward. “It was a very grace-filled day,” he said. No doubt.
